AFTER SEVERAL YEARS OF WAITING, PRF IS FINALLY ALLOWED IN DENTAL AND STOMATOLOGY SUGERY BY THE HEALTH MINISTRY.

This authorization is nevertheless subject to medico-legal conditions namely the requirement to have been trained in the preparation and use of PRF.

But the Health Authority has also recognized the ability of the Dental Surgeon to do blood sample by introducing a new interpretation of Article L.4141-1 of the Code of Ethics whereby “the practice of dentistry involves prevention, diagnosis and treatment of congenital and acquired diseases, real or imagined, of mouth, teeth, maxillaries and adjoining tissues, under conditions established by the code of ethics of the profession mentioned in Article L. 4127-1. “

This ability is not limited by a list of actions, but the anatomical location (mouth, teeth, maxillaries and adjoining tissues) of the disease concerned. In other words, when it’s about preventing, diagnosing or treating a disease which concerns this anatomical area, the dental surgeon can legally use all necessary acts and prescriptions. The use of PRF and blood sampling are therefore part of the capacity field of dental surgeons.

The act of blood sample required for this technique, as it is made in the treatment of maxillary pathology is included in this legal capacity field and can be prescribed or made by a dental surgeon as well as nursing acts – IM or IV injections – necessary for the administration of certain drugs. Of course, the practitioners must have been trained for this procedure…

This is a real clarification of capabilities of dental surgeon which made possible by the action of the National Union of Periodontists and Implantologists (S.N.P.I.) and his president Dr. Paul SAMAKH.

Syfac organizes several training throughout the year: Training in the use of PRF (1 day) and Blood samples Injections (1 day).
